Hi, my name is Angie and I’m a licensed professional counselor with 25 years of experience in the field of psychology. I currently practice in the State of Texas but I am originally from Michigan. That was where I started out working in a residential treatment facility with children and adolescents. After that I worked in partial hospitalization program for adults, a domestic violence shelter and a community mental health center. I relocated to Texas 10 years ago and have had the opportunity to work in an adolescent partial hospitalization program, an Employee Assistance Program and currently I have a private practice. I have worked with children as young a 5 and adults in their 80’s, doing individual, couples and family therapy. I am empathetic and compassionate, believing that this is your journey and I am here to assist you as a partner. Therefore, I am first and foremost a person-center, solution-focused counselor. I received training in Cognitive Behavioral therapy by the Beck Institute and have additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy but believe in an eclectic approach to treatment using Psychotherapy, Existentialism and a Humanistic approach. My specializations are trauma, depression, anxiety and eating disorders. I look forward to meeting and assisting you on your journey. Remember: the past is a place of reference, not residence. Let’s look to the future together and find a path that will lead us to achieving your goals.
