Carolyn Hollingshead is a highly experienced and compassionate social worker with over 20 years of experience in helping individuals improve their quality of life. Throughout her career, she has successfully treated clients of all ages dealing with a range of challenges including depression, anxiety, PTSD, marital issues, blended families, divorce, death, chronic pain, and eating disorders. With a background as a Registered Dietitian for over 30 years and a PhD in Nutrition with a focus on communication, Carolyn brings a comprehensive and holistic approach to her practice. She is also a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) and has completed Level One of the Gottman Institute. Carolyn’s expertise lies in chronic pain, grief, and eating disorders, including weight management. She is skilled in process-oriented and insight-oriented modalities and finds great satisfaction in helping her clients experience “aha” moments in their therapeutic journey. Carolyn is comfortable exploring family of origin topics as well as end-of-life issues, and her extensive health background allows her to effectively address medical concerns within a holistic framework. She believes in the value of alternative therapies, such as somatic therapy, in the therapeutic process.
