I am a licensed clinical social worker in Michigan with over 20 years of professional work experience in gerontology, with a focus on supporting individuals and families living with dementia. I have gained knowledge and experience in working with older adults and caregivers through a variety of practice settings, such as clinics, residential care communities and community organizations, such as the Alzheimer’s Association. I am passionate about helping clients understand and cope with aging issues associated with stress, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and self-compassion into my approach to create a space for healing and to help clients move forward with challenges toward values-based experiences. Living with change and uncertainty related to life transitions and caregiving can be difficult. Building inner strength and resources within a support network can help you along the way. I believe that you are the expert of your experience and would appreciate the opportunity to learn together how best to assist you in working through things that challenge you. Taking mindful steps toward living a fulfilling life can take courage. Thank you for getting started. I look forward to connecting with you! Cassie
