About Catherine Duthie's service

Welcome! I am so grateful to be able to work with people reaching out to receive help for problematic behaviors and I strongly believe those behaviors can change when a person is motivated to work on change. I obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Substance Abuse/Addictions from Antioch University in Keene, N.H. and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine. I obtained my Clinical Professional Counselor License and my Alcohol and Drug Counselor License. I have been a member of the American Counseling Association. I have provided counseling to people for 17 years and have worked at a community mental health agency, a medical center, and for a hospital. My special interests and expertise include co occurring disorders, integrative care, depression, anger management, anxiety, and relapse prevention. Some approaches I utilize are motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho education, and trauma sensitive. In my spare time, I enjoy running, kayaking, swimming, reading, and interacting with my daughter. I look forward to meeting you where you are at, listening to where you have been, and focusing on where you want to go.
