What Daniel says about the work

Reproduced in full and unedited - not summarised, not tightened, not rewritten in a house voice.

Hi, I'm Daniel. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My approach to therapy is straightforward, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change starts with feeling genuinely heard and understood.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, burnout, and the feeling of being stuck or disconnected from themselves. Whether you're dealing with something that's been building for years or a situation that's recently turned your world upside down, my goal is to help you make sense of what you're experiencing and find a realistic path forward.

My style is conversational, collaborative, and practical. I'm not interested in simply asking how your week went and leaving it there. I want our work together to feel useful. That might mean identifying patterns, challenging unhelpful thinking, developing healthier coping strategies, or having an honest conversation you've been avoiding.

Alongside my clinical background, I've spent years working in the music industry, which has given me a unique perspective on high-pressure environments, identity, relationships, and the challenges of balancing personal wellbeing with professional demands.

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely cares about helping you move forward, not an intimidating clinical experience. I'll meet you where you are, respect your pace, and offer both support and honest feedback when it's helpful.

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the most important first step is simply having a place where you can talk openly without judgment.

I look forward to working with you.

03 · What happens next

From this page to a first session

Daniel practises through BetterHelp, so the route in is BetterHelp's. This is that sequence, written by Maker Therapy from the platform's published process - not a description of Daniel's own practice, and not a promise about how quickly anything happens.

  1. A questionnaire, not a booking form

BetterHelp opens with a set of questions about what you are dealing with, what you want from therapy, and any preferences on the therapist. You are not booking Daniel at this point.

  2. Naming Daniel specifically

BetterHelp matches algorithmically by default, so asking for Daniel is a step you have to take. There is a field for requesting a specific therapist during sign-up, and you can switch afterwards from your account. Starting from a link on this page does not by itself assign you to Daniel.

  3. If the caseload is full

You will be offered somebody else rather than put on a waitlist. Worth knowing, because it is easy to assume a match is the person you asked for.

  4. The first conversation

A first session is typically history and orientation: what brought you, what has been tried, what you want to be different. It is also where the questions in the next section belong.

  5. If the fit is wrong

Changing therapist on BetterHelp does not need a reason. A first session that does not click is common and is not a verdict on therapy. That option existing is the main practical difference between a platform and a private practice.
