I started my journey working in the mental health field as a Corpsman & Psychiatric Technician for the US Navy (Active duty 1997-2003, two previous 6 month deployments in the Gulf and at GITMO, Cuba).
After discharge, I returned back to college to finish my degree in clinical counseling in 2009. I have worked in crisis/ER, addictions, inpatient both adult and teen, day treatment for teens, school based therapy and outpatient primary care children, teens and adults.
I have strong familiarity with Autism/ADHD and psychotropic medications. I use various therapy modalities (CBT/DBT/MI/ACT/EMDR) but also have interest in teaching food mood nutrition, bilateral exercises/somatic therapy, and creative art therapy. I recently completed my certification as an ADHD-CCSP (ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider).
Little things to know about me: I enjoy live music, painting/art, card game Hand and Foot, camping, cruising in my 69 Chevelle /car shows, traveling (Europe is my favorite), bingo, trivia, and cooking (German food). If you every want to share a song or talk about music that means something to you, please do!
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your journey. Currently my schedule is on Tuesdays, Wednesday, (some Thursdays upon request) 630p and 730p slots and Sundays 10-5p.
