Derek Smith (LCSW)

Hi. I’m Derek Smith. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am licensed in Wisconsin with 4 years of professional work experience. Working in residential and outpatient settings I have experience in helping clients with addictions, trauma, anger, and low self-esteem. I provide therapy using a variety technique, including rational emotive behavior therapy, problem-solving therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational Interviewing. I work with clients to build trust and respect. I also work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It is imperative that I maintain a judgment-free space, a space that is challenging but comforting, and a process that is enlightening as well as retrospective. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the fist step towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that Journey. I look forward to working with you!
