I am a licensed psychologist in Illinois with over 20 years of experience. In addition to specializing in the addictions, I work with clients experiencing depression and anxiety, trauma and grief, stress and anger, adult ADHD, relationship challenges, and job and career difficulties.
Both my therapy and coaching styles are person-centered, values-based, and solution-focused. I am committed to treating each individual with respect, sensitivity, and unconditional positive regard. My multimodal therapeutic approach integrates Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic-Existential Therapy (HET), Harm Reduction Counseling, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Addiction Psychotherapy, and Self-Help Facilitation. I provide psychoeducation to ensure clients thoroughly understand their challenges, and I personalize all therapy sessions and treatment plans to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. Additionally, I conduct more in-depth psychological assessments when needed.
When treating addictions, I help clients navigate their recoveries by providing relevant clinical assessments, psychoeducation, psychotherapy, harm reduction, and support group facilitation. This type of robust recovery program is designed to address not only alcohol and substance abuse disorders, but also process and behavioral addictions related to gambling, pornography, internet use, and social media dependency, to name a few. I integrate evidence-based support groups (e.g., 12-Step Programs, Recovery Dharma & SMART Recovery) into one's recovery program to achieve and sustain long-term life fulfillment.
Achieving meaningful change through solution-focused psychotherapy and counseling requires openness, self-awareness, and committed action toward psychological flexibility and a more fulfilling life. I look forward to supporting and facilitating your journey toward these positive changes.
