I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Seattle, Washington. I have 23 years of professional experience providing therapy to youth and adults with a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma & abuse, difficult feelings, and coping with life changes. I strive to approach the therapeutic relationship with sensitivity and respect for multicultural issues, doing my own work to overcome the obstacle my privilege as a white, male therapist may pose to my clients. I consider the therapeutic relationship to be at the heart of effective therapy, and it is my goal to treat my clients with compassion, respect, and warmth. Whether we are talking or doing an occasional role play, my therapy style draws from my experience as a drama therapist. I have provided individual therapy in adult day treatment programs, a school health clinic in a middle school, a child guidance clinic for children and families, and a national program for military veterans with post traumatic stress disorder. I believe we are all products of our closest relationships, our environment, our families, and all of our experiences leading up to now. My goal is to meet you where you are and find an approach that will work best for us as we work together to meet your therapeutic goals. It takes a lot of courage and strength to work towards a more fulfilling and happier life. If you are ready to take that step, I’m here to support you in navigating this moment in your journey!
