Janet Wise

Janet Wise-Thomas is a highly experienced Licensed NYS Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of working with individuals who have chronic illnesses and have experienced various forms of psychological and physical trauma. She specializes in helping young adults to seniors who struggle with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, community violence, and gender identity. Janet is known for her sensitivity and respect for multi/cross-cultural factors and has trained others on cultural competency. She believes in building a compassionate and warm therapeutic relationship with her clients, tailored to their specific needs. Janet’s therapeutic approach draws from a range of disciplines, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She strongly believes in collaborating with her clients to help them set and achieve their goals, whether it’s managing symptoms of depression or anxiety, recovering from trauma, or navigating through a life crisis. Throughout her career, Janet has had the privilege of working with many individuals and families, helping them increase their stability and find joy and purpose in their lives. She understands that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and tailors her coaching and counseling to address the unique concerns of each person or family. Janet’s extensive training also includes
