Hi there, I'm Jasmine!
I look forward to helping you grow by building on your inherent strengths, fostering resilience, and uncovering the inner resources you already possess. Through a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I can guide you in setting meaningful goals and taking empowered steps toward lasting change.
I am passionate about supporting African-American women and other persons of color who are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relational challenges. Together, we will explore the underlying factors contributing to your challenges, while also focusing on how to empower you to make meaningful, lasting changes.
My practice is rooted in a strength-based, client-centered framework, which means I meet you where you are, without judgment, and work collaboratively with you to uncover and build on your existing strengths. My approach focuses on what's working, not just what's wrong-helping you to move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. I lead with active listening and validation, because I believe feeling seen is the foundation for real healing. At the same time, I'll gently challenge any thought patterns or beliefs that might be keeping you stuck.
My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by personal experiences and a commitment to supporting others. I was drawn to this work because of the stigma around mental health in my own culture. Seeing people suffer in silence made me want to help break that silence and create space for healing.
I believe the foundation of effective therapy is genuine connection. In our work together, I'll take time to really get to know you-who you are, where you come from, and what matters most. From there, we'll identify what feels most challenging and create goals that are realistic, meaningful, and aligned with what you want to achieve.
