Kanisha Harrison

Kanisha Harrison is a licensed clinical social worker based in South Carolina and North Carolina. With a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology from Winthrop University, Kanisha has extensive experience working with clients who have battled depression, anxiety, caregiver fatigue, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and addiction. Kanisha believes that seeking counseling allows individuals to express themselves and be vulnerable in a safe and supportive environment. She specializes in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a Strength-Based Approach to help clients identify tools to manage and take control over their emotions. Kanisha values the importance of respect in the therapeutic relationship and believes that counseling is a partnership between the client and therapist. She approaches each client with the utmost respect and works together as a team to process thoughts, emotions, and reactions, develop short-term and long-term goals, and break down barriers that may be causing discomfort. Kanisha understands that solving problems takes time and acknowledges that taking the first step to research therapists is a significant milestone.
