Kara Denahan

Kara Denahan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience providing therapy to individuals and couples. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Design, specializing in Photography, and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Rhode Island. After working as a therapist for others, Kara opened her own private practice in 1997. In 1999, she joined a meditation group dedicated to the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, which deepened her capacity to connect and engage with her clients. Kara also pursued training in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) in 2009, which has had a profound positive effect on her and her clients. She is passionate about helping individuals accept themselves and cultivate inner peace. Kara has been influenced by various teachers, including Stephen Porges, Deb Dana, Daniel Siegel, Rick Hanson, Martha Beck, and Brene Brown. She integrates their knowledge into her therapy practice to offer personalized and effective techniques for personal well-being. Kara believes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach and strives to help her clients find the best path to a more fulfilling life.
