Lizhen Yan

Lizhen Yan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) committed to supporting the well-being of her clients from a Christian perspective, while also welcoming individuals from all religious backgrounds. With a focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and parenting/marital troubles, Lizhen provides a safe space for clients to seek counseling either individually, as a family, or as a couple. Unlike traditional therapy, Lizhen’s approach as an MFT examines how an individual’s behavior impacts both themselves and their relationships within a couple or family. By involving other family members in the therapeutic process, Lizhen believes more effective solutions can be found, regardless of whether the problem appears to be within an individual or within the family unit. With a goal-oriented approach, Lizhen works towards achieving established end results. In line with recent developments in the field, Lizhen advocates for expanded approaches to MFT training, integrating other therapies and becoming more inclusive of non-heterosexual couples and families. Her treatment focuses on addressing the behaviors of all family members and their impact on individual well-being, as well as the relationships between family members and the family unit as a whole.
