Mayra Vega (LCSW)

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York with over 17 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, career challenges and life changes. My specialty is LGBTQ+ related issues in adolescence and throughout the lifespan, as well as gender studies. Additionally, I have worked with issues related to homelessness, immigration status, and family of origin. My counseling style is client-centered, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive. I am committed to providing my clients with an environment that is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My approach is always determined by the individual client’s needs and I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion without stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and rational-emotive behavior therapy. I strive to adapt and mold therapy goals to meet each individual’s unique and specific needs. **Unfortunately, I do not have specific training in the areas of OCD, Autism, Sexual dysfunctions, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Neuro Cognitive Disorders. It takes strength and courage to seek help. It is a sign of willingness to change. You should be proud of yourself for taking the first step in the journey toward being your best self.
