Hello, Iโm Michele D’Angelo. Iโm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York, and I have been working in the mental health field for the past 10 years. In that time, I have gained experience working with clients struggling with a wide range of issues including: depression, anxiety, anger issues, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, low self-esteem, behavior issues, social skills deficits, as well as addiction and substance use issues. Throughout all of my experience, I have developed excellent clinical skills and pride myself on my expertise. I feel most comfortable utilizing a number of theoretical approaches based on what the client brings to the session. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. I most often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, systems theory, attachment theory, and a client centered approach. In older youth and adults I focus a lot on processing and meeting the client where they are at in the session. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek guidance for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you.
