Sarah Young (LCSW)

My name is Sarah Young, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Oklahoma. I will walk with you, get to know you on the way, and help you learn and grow from your experiences as we go. I have worked with adults of all ages and abilities, who are coping with a wide variety of challenges. I find it especially rewarding to help people work through depression, anxiety, stress, and self-concept issues stemming from life transitions such as school and work changes, divorce and separation, loss/grieving, retirement, and health crises. I also enjoy working with and empowering survivors of abuse and trauma. I strive to treat each person with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach to therapy draws from an eclectic mix of theoretical foundations, including Humanistic/Client-Centered Therapy (CCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems. This mix allows me maximum flexibility in adapting to individual client needs, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and communication styles. The first session typically consists of getting to know each other, and becoming comfortable working with each other; as well as an initial sketch of the issue(s) that led you to seek therapy. I will often ask questions when I want to understand something better. It takes courage to seek help in making positive changes in your own life, and you have taken that important first step.
