My name is Tammy Adams I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Kentucky. I earned my Masters at the University of Louisville in 2010 and my Bachelors at the University of Kentucky in 2005. I have worked with the Cabinet for Families and Children for 3 years before going into Community Mental Health where I have worked for the past 17 years. I have worked in many different settings over the years such as inpatient, outpatient, and jails working with individuals, couples, families, teens, veterans, the homeless and medically complex care patients with a variety of personal issues. Some of the issues are anxiety/depression, substance use disorder, relationship/marital problems, grief and loss, family conflict, PTSD, anger management, and more. My approach to therapy is understanding, empathetic and interactive. I believe in validating your feelings and being non-judgmental while combing several models such as cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, family systems, solution focused, among others. I believe in meeting the client where they are and allowing them to lead therapy approaches. I understand life is hard and moving on feels impossible but allow me to show you how. Helping you understand that life happens to everyone and can make you feel alone but you are not. Thank you for considering me as your therapist.
