What Zara says about the work

Reproduced in full and unedited - not summarised, not tightened, not rewritten in a house voice.

As a licensed Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in supporting adults and individuals navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and relationship concerns. I am passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen their emotional well-being, and create meaningful change in their lives.

I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether you are struggling with social anxiety, feelings of isolation, shame, attachment concerns, or questions about identity and purpose, therapy can offer an opportunity for growth, healing, and self-discovery.

My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Together, we will identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, explore deeper questions of meaning and personal values, and build on your existing strengths to develop practical solutions. My goal is to help clients cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, confidence, and healthier relationships with themselves and others.

My professional experience includes working with adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, as well as children and adolescents. I have supported clients facing challenges such as caregiver stress, attachment issues, life-purpose exploration, communication difficulties, significant personal transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and career-related stress. I also enjoy working with men who are navigating career decisions, work-related stress, identity, emotional well-being, and the pressures of balancing personal and professional responsibilities.

I also have specialized knowledge of perinatal mental health, including the emotional and psychological challenges that can arise during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I provide compassionate, evidence-based support to clients experiencing postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, identity shifts, and the transition into parenthood.

Additionally, my experience working with children and adolescents has focused on helping them build emotional awareness, resilience, healthy coping skills, and confidence as they navigate developmental and life challenges.

Seeking therapy is a courageous step. Choosing to ask for support reflects a commitment to your well-being and personal growth. You do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. I look forward to partnering with you as you work toward healing, self-understanding, and a more fulfilling life.

03 · What happens next

From this page to a first session

Zara practises through BetterHelp, so the route in is BetterHelp's. This is that sequence, written by Maker Therapy from the platform's published process - not a description of Zara's own practice, and not a promise about how quickly anything happens.

  1. A questionnaire, not a booking form

BetterHelp opens with a set of questions about what you are dealing with, what you want from therapy, and any preferences on the therapist. You are not booking Zara at this point.

  2. Naming Zara specifically

BetterHelp matches algorithmically by default, so asking for Zara is a step you have to take. There is a field for requesting a specific therapist during sign-up, and you can switch afterwards from your account. Starting from a link on this page does not by itself assign you to Zara.

  3. If the caseload is full

You will be offered somebody else rather than put on a waitlist. Worth knowing, because it is easy to assume a match is the person you asked for.

  4. The first conversation

A first session is typically history and orientation: what brought you, what has been tried, what you want to be different. It is also where the questions in the next section belong.

  5. If the fit is wrong

Changing therapist on BetterHelp does not need a reason. A first session that does not click is common and is not a verdict on therapy. That option existing is the main practical difference between a platform and a private practice.

Where every line on this page came from

Zara's name, credential, state, subjects, approaches and biography are read from BetterHelp's therapist roster, which Maker Therapy re-reads once a day; this page reflects the reading taken on 10 Oct 2026. The licence number and NPI are cross-checked against public registers.

The plain-English method descriptions, the first-session walkthrough and the questions are written by Maker Therapy and labelled as such wherever they appear.

Maker Therapy is not BetterHelp, does not take bookings, and has not met Zara. There are no reviews or ratings on this page because we have no way to verify one. If you start therapy through a link here, we may be paid a commission - it does not change your price and it does not affect who appears here or in what order.
