Greetings! Resilience, in us, is crucial when faced with day to day challenges. To a certain degree, this resilience carries us through the toughest of times. For some, resilience has somewhat become dormant, to a point that it has manifested itself to making you feel “stuck.” This feeling, may have you saying to yourself that there is no way out. I’m here to say that there is a way out.. There is always a way out of this being “stuck” feeling. My counseling approach is that YOU are the expert of your life! You will dictate how your journey goes. I have found that every individual is unique in their own way. Therefore, my approach is integrative and I incorporate different life strategies and therapeutic techniques to assist and empower you to find solutions towards your well being. My goal is to be that tool that guides you to finding or restoring the resilience needed to overcome whatever obstacle or challenge life throws at you while at the same time giving you the tools to make the necessary changes in your life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the field of mental health for over thirty two years. I have worked in an acute inpatient unit with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have also been a behavioral consultant at my local school district and a school counselor for at risk students ages ten – eighteen. In addition to working in a hospital/clinical and educational setting, I also work in private practice. I know that asking and receiving this kind of help still carries a certain stigma in many cultures and populations. However, let this be the day that you begin a process of new beginnings.
