I am a clinically licensed social worker in Kansas with 6+ years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping adolescents and adults on how to cope with daily life stressors, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, mood issues, motivation, and executive dysfunction. I also have experience working with trauma and trauma symptoms, helping individuals learn to overcome and cope with their trauma reminders. I approach every working relationship with compassion, empathy and kindness. I believe everyone has a story to tell but because we live so close to these stories we struggle to see the big picture or know how to cope with the intricacies of emotions that play out. We all could use some guidance to help keep ourselves grounded and focused on our main goals. My approaches to therapy are built from cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused approaches (i.e. cognitive processing and EMDR), as well as positive psychology and humanistic psychology. But my biggest focus in therapy is building the working relationship and maintaining a safe space for healing. Even if that means spending some time chatting about TV shows/movies, video games, or just venting about the struggles of the day. I’m ready to get started when you are.
