Welcome to BetterHelp. For the past 15 years, I’ve started sessions in hospital settings or private practice, such as a head nod and offering a cup of water — hospitality before the intake forms and labels. My approach is simple: when questions like “why” come up, hospitality should meet them, not out of reaction, but as a steady, reliable response to the patterns and themes you bring into the therapy. I work with first responders, active military, veterans, and law enforcement — people who run toward acting in the moment, driven by the body’s fight or flight system: anxiety. Words like ADHD, PTSD, CPTSD, depression, and anxiety come up often when talking about mental health. But behind those labels are people wrestling with identity, choices, and direction more than most. When those struggles stay unspoken, they can leak into close relationships as bias and misunderstanding, often leading to a need to clear up intent when misunderstood. It doesn’t help to try harder. We endure by building steady, predictable rhythms into our days, paying attention to intent, effort, and structure, and even adjusting when, essentially, realizing we aren’t having the impact we ourselves are looking for on others. As someone with ADHD and dyslexia, I specialize in equipping men with ADHD to find their footing in a world that often prizes quick fixes, slogans over genuine concern, and purpose. Every day, I get to equip people willing to pause, reflect, retrace their steps, and adjust — building lives that respond to what matters to them, not just what demands immediate attention.
