About Cynthia Malek's service

My name is Cynthia Malek and I am a licensed social worker with LCSW-R and credential substance abuse counselor with CASAC certification. I am also dual licensed in North Carolina as a clinical social worker. I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor of science in psychology with a minor in fine arts in 2005. My master’s degree in social work was earned at Syracuse University in 2008. I specialize in dynamic deconstructive psychotherapy and apply components of dialectic behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, and supportive therapy as appropriate based on individual needs . I employ an eclectic approach in my therapeutic work. I have been trained in EMDR and I hold a certification as a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional with knowledge of nutrition and holistic therapy interventions.
