Darcy Richardson

Darcy Richardson is a passionate and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. With a specialization in trauma treatment, Darcy has been providing counseling services since 2011, working with children, families, couples, and individuals. After completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles in 2014, Darcy transitioned from a successful career in journalism to the mental healthcare field. Drawing on her background in journalism, Darcy helps clients develop their personal stories and gain insight into their behavior. With a counseling style that combines Rogerian unconditional positive regard with brief, solution-focused therapy, Darcy meets clients where they are and works collaboratively to devise practical solutions. She values the client’s perspective and uses their language to guide the therapeutic process. Darcy is highly skilled in Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques and interventions such as the miracle question, scaling, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
