Kelley Owusu Asante

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently licensed in Alabama with 5 years of professional experience as a licensed psychotherapist and 3 years as an Associate Licensed Counselor. I am a retired Military Veteran who has served for 22 years as a Licensed Professional Nurse. I have a vast experience working with military members and their families. As an Associate Licensed Counselor, I have worked with a variety of mental health issues to include: grief and loss, severe mental illness, and opioid addiction. My counseling style is person centered. Generally the counselling style I use is cognitive behavioral and narrative therapy,. I believe in a team approach to therapy, in which the client has the lead and active role. I have committed the last five years of treating clients who would not otherwise be able to afford counseling services. I believe that every human being should be afforded the opportunity to receiving mental health support and treatment.
