Hello! I’m Lissette! I am a Licensed Social Worker in the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts. I have been working in the mental health field since 2007. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since April 2013. I have been with Betterhelp.com since December 2019. Delivering therapeutic services via Betterhelp.com is different. I have been successful with issues related to: trauma, social/relationship issues, assistance with life transitions, enhancement of social life, stress reduction, LGBTQ issues, alleviation of mild-moderate symptoms of depression and anxiety. There is such a thing as too much anxiety and feeling too depressed. Since I have a great deal of experience working in different settings (community, group home level of care, psychiatric intake, inpatient psychiatric unit and behavioral health that is integrated into the primary care setting), I clinically look at things differently. I will recommend you speak with a physician if I feel your symptoms are too severe. There is a lower threshold for being able to work through extremely difficult symptoms completely online. I utilize methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (CBT-MI), which I have found to be amenable to many situations. I enjoy empowering my clients by exploring negative thought patterns/behaviors and finding ways to minimize/eliminate them. I tend to have a high energy level and enjoy utilizing humor, when appropriate. There is no script that I use. I am not rigid in my thinking or practice. I can be a great cheerleader or I can be someone that will tell you what you need to hear, when you need to hear it. Whether one might be feeling lonely, sad, confused, anxious, whatever that reason is, let’s discuss this. Please note, the purpose of therapy is to not need therapy. I want you to definitely feel better and/or accomplish your personal goals! I welcome those seeking brief, problem focused treatment. Fun Fact – I have played Roller Derby for six years!
