Joseph Anastasio

Joseph Anastasio is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with licenses in both Delaware and Maryland, specializing in providing psychotherapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. He holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Hunter College in New York City and an MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Joseph has extensive experience in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and has worked with clients dealing with grief and bereavement. Additionally, he has expertise in working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, as well as trauma work. Joseph is currently an adjunct professor at Wilmington University, where he teaches courses in conflict resolution and mediation. He has also taught courses at Johns Hopkins University, Coppin State University, College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, and Bowie State University. Joseph has a strong background in Alternatives to Violence (AVP), Restorative Practices, and mediation with couples and families. He is well-versed in the issues facing the LGBTQ community and has facilitated workshops on grief and bereavement, informed consent, and working with families of children with disabilities.
