Russell MacKay

Russell MacKay is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and an EMDR practitioner with over 19 years of experience in the field. He specializes in strengthening relationships, assisting clients through difficult life transitions, and supporting adolescents. Russell has valuable experience working with teen girls and boys in a residential setting, focusing on trauma-related disorders, attachment, self-mutilation/cutting, sexual identity, and the LGBTQ community. He holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from BYU and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the National University of Phoenix. Russell is currently pursuing a Doctorate in counselor education and supervision. His counseling style is warm and interactive, and he believes in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Russell combines Solution Focused, Person Centered, and CBT counseling with Mindfulness techniques, tailoring the dialog and treatment plan to meet each client’s unique needs.
